CTU – Main Campus marked the 24th National Women’s Month with a commitment to community health through a Medical Mission held at the CebuTech Gymnatorium on March 22, 2024. Under the theme “Serbisyong Medical Para kay Juana at Juan,” the event saw collaboration from various institutions and organizations, including the SAS-Health Services, Gender and Development Office (GAD), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Cebu City Medical Center – College of Nursing, Department of Health (DOH), Cebu City Health Department, Cebu City Medical Center, and CCMC-CN Alumni Association.
The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to both CTU employees and students. A range of medical services was on offer, including:
- Medical Consultation by CCMC and CCHD Doctors: Available for all CTU employees and students.
- Blood Sugar Determination: Conducted for 200 CTU employees, with a prerequisite of abstaining from food, beverage, or medication intake two hours prior to testing.
- Blood Typing: Offered to 250 CTU students across all colleges.
- Iron Supplement Distribution: Accessible to 100 CTU students from all colleges. A CBC result indicating low Hemoglobin (obtained within the past 12 months) was required for eligibility.
- Latex Condom Distribution: Available to all attendees.
- Registration for Scheduled Dental Fluoride Application and Toothbrush Distribution: Limited slots for 30 CTU students on March 23 and another 30 on April 6.
Continuing the commitment to community health, the medical mission extended its services on March 25, with the CTU Main Medical Clinic offering talks on Managing Dysmenorrhea and conducting Blood Sugar Determination for 100 CTU employees who were unable to be served on March 22.
This collaborative effort underscores CTU’s dedication to promoting health and wellness among its community members, aligning with the spirit of National Women’s Month and extending valuable healthcare services to all.
