
University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito passionately emphasized the crucial role of language preservation during the momentous signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sentro ng Wika at Kultura (SWK) and the Kultura at Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, held on March 25, 2026, at the QA function room in the CTU – Administrative Building.
Embedded within this landmark MoU are provisions for a series of events aimed at championing the welfare and progression of the Filipino language, designated as the National Language under Republic Act 7104 of the 1987 Constitution.
Dr. Arthur Casanova, the Head of the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, underscored the critical importance of safeguarding and imparting the Filipino language to the younger generation, ensuring its continual development and seamless transmission to subsequent cohorts.
Initiated by Dr. Jesum Pitogo, the University Director of SWK, the MoU signing event garnered support from key stakeholders, including University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, Dr. Ramel Genobiagon, Campus Director, Dr. Edwin Andaya, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Filipino faculty members, and students alike.
