The CTU Dance Troupe impressed the audience with their dance number during the opening ceremony of HANDA PILIPINAS: Visayas Leg on July 24, 2024, at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino, Cebu City. With the exceptional choreography of Prof. Michael Dax Barlaan, CTU Danaoโs renowned cultural chairperson, the dancers presented the following Philippine folk dances; Miligoy de Cebu, Itik-Itik Sibonga, Sampaguita, Kuratsa, and Kuradang and also led the SOLIDO Nation Dance.The event was spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region VII.
The 2024 HANDA PILIPINAS: Visayas Leg is a three-day event from July 24-26, 2024 which aims to foster resilience and disaster preparedness in the Visayas that features various sessions and exhibits designed to address disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) needs, promote innovative strategies and intellectual exchange. This event also serves as an avenue for people to showcase their skills and inspire others.
With this dance presentation, the university truly upholds its commitment to serve and share its expertise in the field of cultural presentation which is essential for stakeholdersโ partnership in the region.
