Six Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the 2024 GAA-Funded Community Extension Projects were signed on July 29 between CTU-Barili and its collaborating extension partners. Five of the extension projects are continuing or on their Phase 2 of implementation with the collaboration from Sibonga Multipurpose Cooperative (SMPC). The other extension project is in its starting phase, which forged a new partnership between CTU-Barili and Campangga Alayon Multipurpose Cooperative (CAMPCO).
Present during the ceremony were Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten, the CTU-Barili Campus Director; Dr. Clea Anne V. Corsiga, CTU-Bariliโs Extension Director; the project proponents from different implementing curricular programs, and the representatives from the collaborating extension partners headed by Ms. Elvira D. Dela Cruz, BOD Chairperson of SMPC and Mr. Rolando Jimenez, General Manager of CAMPCO. The MOA signing happened at the CTU-Barili Accreditation Room.
Dr. Romeo C. Lepiten emphasized the significant role of state universities in conducting research and translating it into extension programs during his welcome address. โThe research study conducted by our faculty members should be utilized and translated into extension programs. Perhaps we could give importance to the community people, especially the members of our partner cooperatives, Dr. Lepiten said.
During the ceremony, an open forum was also held to discuss the plans and activities among the different projects, which also addressed questions and clarifications among the parties involved.
The signing of the MOA between CTU Barili and its partner cooperatives marked a new development for CTU Bariliโs mission to provide extension and resource generation programs.
