Shoketsu SMC Corporation generously donated a Flexible Integrated Assembling System to Cebu Technological University (CTU)-Main Campus in March 2024. Founded in Japan, SMC Corporation has been the world’s largest manufacturer of pneumatic automation products since 1959. CTU is the first-ever state university to have received this trainer system. Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, the University President, warmly received the simulation trainer and turned it over to Dr. Lelanie S. Cordero, Associate Dean College of Technology, Mechatronics Department.

The simulation trainer provides students with hands-on experience in using industry-standard elements, ensuring they gain valuable skills directly applicable to real-world engineering and technology environments. The system consists of multiple stages accomplished through a combination of motors, pneumatic and hydraulic power, robotic arms, and sensors. It is particularly beneficial for programs such as Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation, Graphics and Design, and other Engineering and Technology related fields.

The donation of the FMS-200 allows CTU-Main Campus to maximize and revolutionize the opportunities, providing students with opportunities for practical activities with real-life elements that simulate actual industry experience, deepening their understanding of the use of technologies, and developing work competencies.
