A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus and Maersk was held at CTU Quality Assurance Boardroom on August 13, 2024. Maersk is a global logistics company that offers transportation, digital solutions for various industries, and international supply chains. This collaboration is made possible through the team effort of the Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate (CDIO) of CTU. This milestone aims to establish a joint partnership for innovative projects in industry and education.

The MOA signing was participated by Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who also shared an inspirational message. Dr. Ramel C. Genobiagon, CTU-Main Campus Director, delivered a welcome remarks highlighting the Universityโ€™s rich history. It was followed by the acknowledgment of the participants by Dr. Maria Elena A. Aparente, University Director for CDIO.

Dr. Ve Leslie E. Atanoza, CTU CDIO PMT member, introduced the CTU officials: Dr. Jose Maria S. Garcia, Dean of the College of Computer, Information, and Communication Technology (CCICT); Dr. Jimmy Pescadero, Dean of College of Technology (COT); Dr. Edwin B. Andaya, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences (CAS); and Dr. Jun-Jun Obiso, Associate Dean of College of Engineering (COE). Among the participants were Engr. Teresita B. Capin, the University Director for Gender and Development (GAD) and a CDIO member, and Dr. Cristie Ann Jaca, the University Director for Information, Communication, and Public Affairs (ICPA). Along with them were the CDIO PMT Team Leader, Dr. Eingelbert Benoloria from Argao Campus as well as the CDIO PMT members Engr. Al Emmanuel Caballes from Tuburan Campus and Engr. Delfa Castilla from Danao Campus.

Mr. Gilbert Cabataรฑa, General Manager for Visayas and Mindanao Operations introduced the Maersk representatives including Mr. Keanu Henri Yu, Senior Manager Operations; Mr. Will Cabalda, Divisional Manager, Visayas and Mindanao Operations; Mr. Remedios Gayrama, Operations Manager; Mr. Rolando Cabiluna, Operations Manager; Mr. Joel Requilme, Operations Manager; Ms. Ivy Tero, Regional Management Trainee; and Mr. EJ Sapno, People Partner representative.

The partnership between CTU and Maersk through the CDIO initiative marks the beginning of a dynamic collaboration that will drive innovation and practical learning. By aligning academic expertise with industry needs, this agreement promises to deliver impactful projects that enhance both the educational landscape and Maersk’s operational excellence, paving the way for future advancements and shared success.
