𝗔𝗧𝗢 𝗡𝗜! 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳

The project ATO NI! (Assisting Teachers On Their Needs in Instruction) that aims to reinforce the teaching practices of English teachers through the implementation of a comprehensive training program commenced on September 6, 2024, at Tejero High School, Brgy. Tejero, Cebu City.

To address the pressing problems in student’s reading comprehension and to conduct training for English Teachers, a partnership has been established between the English Teachers from Junior and Senior High of Tejero High School and ATO NI! volunteer teachers from Cebu Technological University’s College of Education (COED) namely, Dr. Cristie Ann L. Jaca, Project Leader and University Director of ICPA (Information, Communication, and Public Affairs), and her Project Members; Dr. Alma Valendez, Program Chair of BSED-English, and Dr. Mary Jane Sim.

The five areas for training are the following: Teaching Methodologies; Reading Comprehension; Development of Instructional Materials; Use of Technology in Teaching; and Innovative Strategies in Teaching English. The extension project ATO NI! is a Comprehensive Reading Instruction Training Program of target beneficiaries in the lesson’s delivery in high school English classes. These beneficiaries are the English teachers of Tejero Night High School.

This program focuses on addressing the reading problems among students by helping English teachers from Tejero High School improve their teaching practices through relevant training.
