During the Asia Regional Meeting (ARM) 2024 at Hokkaido Information University, Japan, on September 5-7, 2024, Cebu Technological University was accepted as an official CDIO collaborator. Aside from this breakthrough, CTU is also the 5th University in the Philippines to have clinched this recognition.

Eight 8th CTU delegates were present in the conference and training session, including the University President, Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, and the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, together with Dr. Maria Elena A. Aparante, CDIO University Director; Dr. Eingilbert C. Benolirao, CDIO Team Leader, and with the CDIO PMT Team namely Dr. Ve Leslie E. Atanoza; Engr. Al Emmanuel Caballes; Engr. Delfa G. Castilla; and Engr. Teresita B. Capin. During the conference, Dr. Atanoza and Engr. Caballes delivered a presentation on Cebu Technological Universityโ€™s initiative to adapt the CDIO Framework. This CDIO initiative was piloted and tested in Industrial Engineering as a pilot program at the University.

This Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) event, with the theme: โ€œDigital Innovation in Higher Education – Steering Students toward Success,” was spearheaded by Hokkaido Information University. The activity convened all the CDIO members and other participants to tackle CDIO Asian regional matters, expertise, and insights.
