In collaboration with Cebu Technological University, the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) spearheaded a full-day Startup Bootcamp yesterday, September 10, 2024, at CTU Gymnatorium. The participants of the activity are students and mentors from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), and Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Computer Technology (BIT-CT) programs.

“All startups are businesses, but not all businesses are startups,” said Mr. Joshua Eleazar P. Domen, ITO-II, Regional Focal for IIDB R7. He provided an in-depth talk about startups, understanding the entrepreneurial mindset, and a discussion of the importance of problem-solving and innovation.

Mr. Ryan Michael Gelig, Founder/CEO, SugboDoc, talked over the components of a business model while Mr. Lance Brandon Pacio, Co-Founder, Xeleqt AI, discussed how to deliver a winning pitch. As for Philippine Startup Challenge 9 (PSC9) mechanics and FAQS, it was led by Ms. Cheff Cardoso, Ms. Alaiza Mae A. Cuerquis, and Ms. Julie Sampilo. This boot camp aims to impart knowledge and skills to the students and faculty members about startups; the processes and engagement in related competitions and initiatives.
