In celebration of the 90th National Book Week 2024 which carries the theme “Magbasa, Mangarap, Magdiwang” (Read, Dream, Celebrate), the Cebu Technological University (CTU)-Main Library kicked off the launching and book fair opening ceremony today, November 25, and will continue until the 27th and 29th of November this year at the CTU-Learning Resource Center, CTU-Main.
Attendees for todayโs event were CTUโs key officials, namely University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito; Atty. Rodmarc P. Sanchez, Executive Assistant IV; Ms. Armida M. Najarro, College Librarian; Ms. Morena E. Carlos, University Head Librarian; and CTU-Main Campus Director Dr. Ramel C. Genobiagon. Mr. Vladimir E. Zulueta, Head of Strategy and Sustainability at Innodata Knowledge and Services Inc., and the university deans, campus directors, faculty, students, non-teaching staff, and representatives from various book suppliers, were also present.
The book suppliers brought a diverse selection of books, which were showcased in a campus book fair at the library. This event highlighted Mr. Zulueta’s recognition from CTU for his contributions as a guest speaker. Additionally, Dr. Carlos, Dr. Genobiagon, Mr. Zulueta, and Atty. Sanchez led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official opening of the campus book fair and the week-long festivities.
This annual event emphasizes the importance of libraries in empowering individuals and communities. The CTU-Main library consistently thrives on nurturing education, knowledge-sharing, and personal growth.
