The Cebu Technological University (CTU) – Main Campus has once again proven its excellence as its students from the Future Scientists and Technology Leaders of the Philippines CTU Main Campus (FSTLP CTU MC) brought home prestigious awards during the 11th Philippines I Transform! Leadersโ€™ Convention (PITLC) held at Teacherโ€™s Camp in Baguio City on November 14-19. The event, organized by Youthlead Philippines, carried the theme “A Decade of Action: Saving Our Seas, Saving Our Planet.” The team of John Rowen C. Miano (second-year Statistics student), Dave Justine L. Bantilan (second-year Electronics Engineering student), Fredireck N. Benitez (fourth-year Mechanical Engineering student), and Hageo Loue Pancho (fourth-year Mechatronics student), clinched the National Champion victory in the Kabataan Fair: Project Proposal Contest. Their innovative and impactful project proposal, Rhizone, highlighted a practical solution to environmental challenges in coastal areas, resonating with the convention’s advocacy for sustainable development in the seas.

Grace Ann C. Sampigan, a fourth-year Industrial Technology major in Computer Technology (BIT-CT) student, emerged as the Champion in the Primus Tourney Essay Making Contest, presenting a compelling piece that explored the critical role of the youth in sustaining life below water as the key to a sustainable planet. Her essay highlighted the power of young leaders

in addressing environmental challenges and inspiring collective action to preserve marine ecosystems for future generations.

Maximilian R. Yago, a second-year Computer Engineering student, participated in the Poster Making Contest, highlighting the SDGs and connecting with creative peers. Due to Typhoon Pepito, several contests, including Extemporaneous Speaking, were canceled. Although Antonette Kay S. Quiรฑones, a third-year Civil Engineering student, couldn’t compete, her support and commitment to the advocacy were greatly appreciated.

The achievements of these Cebu Technological University – Main Campus students reflect their commitment to academic excellence and their dedication to contributing solutions to global issues. Their success at the 11th PITLC not only brings pride to the university but also serves as an inspiration to young leaders nationwide to take an active role in shaping a sustainable future while highlighting the university’s role as a hub for innovation and leadership in the Philippines.
