Cebu Technological University – Barili Campus, through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office and Subang, successfully hosted โ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐: ๐จ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฆ๐๐ฏ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ฏ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ข๐๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐โ at the Multimedia Room, New CAFBC Building today, December 3, 2024. The event, held in line with the 2024 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), gathered over 60 participants, including ๐๐ข๐ฃ๐ข๐ญ-๐ฉ๐ข๐ฃ๐ข๐ญ drivers from Barangays Cagay and Kalubihan and students from various programs.
The program began with welcoming remarks from Campus Nurse Charity C. Donozo and an inspirational message from Assistant Campus Director George A. Albarracin. Mr. Ryan J. Hernan, a psychiatric nurse, led the discussions with an engaging talk on the effects of substance abuse, followed by Mr. Ronnie G. Delos Santos, CEO of Safe Haven Recovery Village, who emphasized community solutions for recovery. The highlight was the testimony of Mr. Roberto โBertaโ A. Plando Jr., a reformed addict whose story of transformation, featured on ๐๐ข๐ฑ๐ถ๐ด๐ฐ ๐๐ฐ, ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ด๐ช๐ค๐ข ๐๐ฐ๐ฉ๐ฐ, inspired hope and resilience.
The event concluded with a gift-giving activity where participants received rice and spaghetti packs. Subang President Peter John C. Enorio delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of community collaboration in combating substance abuse and violence.
