Cebu Technological University-Main Campus College of Education, in collaboration with the Cebu City Probation Office of the Department of Justice, launched Project LABANG: Livelihood Assistance Building Awareness, Nurturing Growth, a transformative community extension initiative aimed at empowering 35 probationers. This project focuses on fostering personal growth, resilience, and successful reintegration into society by cultivating self-awareness, a growth mindset, and interpersonal skills. Spanning 12 hours from December 2024 to January 2025, the program features three key sessions: The Power of Mistakes (November 24, 2024), The Role of Forgiveness in Personal Transformation (December 15, 2024), and Developing Healthy Relationships and Social Skills: Dealing with Stigma and Public Perception, scheduled for January 12, 2025. which is set to be conducted on January 12, 2025. Each session is grounded in developmental principles and guided by the expertise of the MAEd/Dev.Ed.D. Guidance and Counseling programs.
Under the leadership of Project Leader for Human Formation Development, Dr. Melona Deguma and a team of dedicated educators, Project LABANG underscores the importance of collaboration in empowering probationers to rebuild their lives. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed with the Cebu City Probation Office ensures the programโs sustainability and long-term impact, inspiring participants to embrace renewed purpose and become positive contributors to their communities.
