In line with Cebu Technological University’s commitment to fostering inclusivity, equity, and excellence, the PWD Summit 2024 is set in motion today, December 3, 2024, at the CTU-Gymnatorium, Main Campus.

This year’s summit carries the theme “Empowering Persons with Disabilities: Promoting Inclusivity and Equal Opportunities for a Better Future,” seeking to raise awareness, inspire, and build a culture of understanding and appreciation for PWDs.

Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen, Vice President for Student Affairs, in her speech, emphasizes CTU’s commitment to “a more inclusive and just campus environment” for all PWD students. “May this summit be a catalyst for positive change,” she says.

CTU-Main Campus Director Dr. Ramel C. Genobiagon underlines that everyone, regardless of disabilities, merits equal access to opportunities and resources. Partaking in this affair are University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, represented by Atty. Rodmarc P. Sanchez, Executive Assistant IV; Prof. Marlou C. Godinez, UD for PWD; Engr. Teresita B. Capin, PWD and GAD Director, CTU-Main; Dr. Niรฑa Rozanne T. Delos Reyes, former Chair of Special Needs Education, and students under the Special Needs Education program.

Guest speaker Ms. Arlinda P. Rosell from the Office of Empowering and Uplifting Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), eyes future collaborations with CTU for disability-awareness initiatives. She then received a certificate of recognition before Dr. Almacen, Dr. Genobiagon, and Atty. Sanchez.

A special presentation of PWD Directors is held today, together with Dr. Almacen. The afternoon session features Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, and Mobile Legends activities.
