Cebu Technological University-Main Campus College of Education, in collaboration with Cebu Caritas, Inc., successfully implemented the ESKOLAR projectโEmbracing Struggles, Keep On Learning, Adapt Resilientlyโa transformative initiative aimed at enhancing the grit, resilience, and emotional well-being of 15 pre-service working scholars (3 males, 12 females) of Cebu Caritas. Held at the Cebu Caritas Building from May to December 2024, the project comprised 40 training hours delivered in 4-hour sessions.
Through personalized strategies, scholars developed a growth mindset, embraced challenges, and fostered self-reflection for continuous improvement. The program culminated on December 8, 2024, highlighting scholars’ significant progress in implementing culturally sensitive wellness programs and promoting their emotional resilience.
The project was spearheaded by Dr. Melona Deguma with a dedicated team comprising Dr. Jabin Deguma, Dr. Vicente Igot, Dr. Mario Pardillo, Dr. Michelle Talon, Prof. Jemima Tandag, Dr. Harlene Marie Gamboa, Prof. Janneka Fae Marsan, Prof. Ann Frances Cabigon, Prof. Angelito Marsan, and Dr. Kaitlin Marie Opingo. Integrating contributions from BEED, BSED-Values, and MAED/Dev.Ed.D. Guidance and Counseling programs, the project reinforced CTU’s commitment to community engagement and transformative education.
