Dr. Sylvester T. Cortes and Dr. Anne S. Lorca from Cebu Technological University (CTU) won the Best Paper awards in the recently concluded International Extension Conference organized by the Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors Inc. (PAEPI) with the theme: “Global Perspectives: Cultivating Cultural Diversity and Community Empowerment for a Prosperous Future,” at Maejo University, Chiang Mai, Thailand held from December 11 to 15, 2024.
Dr. Sylvester T. Cortes reaped the 1st Best Paper Award with his paper, โImpact Evaluation of a Four-year Professional Development Program for Science Teachers aimed at Designing, Implementing, and Publishing Participatory Action Research Projectโ under the Education and Development Studies category. Meanwhile, Dr. Anne S. Lorca clinched the 2nd Best Paper Award in presenting the paper, โDoes Training Improve the Action Research Skills of STEM Teachers? Examining the Mediating Roles of Attitude and Knowledgeโ under the Culture, Social, and Behavioral Studies category.
PAEPI is a platform that brings together the private sector, industry players, extension service providers, Academes, Research Institutions, and extensionists to establish networks and cooperation to build a unified and holistic partnership that will sustain ASEAN-driven initiatives and programs for community empowerment and prosperity.
