Non-teaching personnel at Cebu Technological University-Main Campus participated in a Medical Allowance orientation yesterday, held at the CebuTech Gymnatorium.

Among the attendees was Dr. Emma R. Sacan, CTU’s Chief Administrative Officer for Finance, who presented the guidelines, rules, and regulations on the grant of medical allowance to qualified government personnel.

As per the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) press release, “The Medical Allowance, in the amount not exceeding P7,000 per annum, shall be given to each qualified civilian government personnel as a subsidy to avail of health maintenance organization (HMO)-type benefits.”

Ms. Jennifer V. Enriquez, President of the CTU-Main Non-teaching Association, is optimistic that this medical allowance will meet its purpose of supporting CTU personnel’s healthcare. Participants engaged in a profound discussion on the insurance policies presented by the representatives from the Court of First Instance (CFI), Maxicare, and Generali Philippines. As for the finalization of CTU-Main’s HMO provider, Ms. Enriquez said that a follow-up meeting would be conducted.

This medical allowance enhances CTU personnel’s access to medical services and healthcare benefits, fostering overall well-being. Aside from academic distinction, a healthy and thriving community remains a major objective for CTU.
