Cebu Technological University – Barili Campus recently celebrated the successful harvest of fresh produce from the ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ซ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต, an initiative spearheaded by Cebu Technological University and Subang – CTU Agriculture and Food Systems Department. This milestone reflects the universityโ€™s commitment to sustainability and addressing food security within the campus and community.

The harvested crops, which included tomatoes, okra, and chilis, were cultivated by first-year BS Agribusiness and BS Agriculture students under the guidance of Subang Adviser Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual. This initiative demonstrates how agriculture students can apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios, contributing to the universityโ€™s goals of fostering sustainable and impactful projects.

Present during the harvest were Subang volunteer interns Kesiah C. Montesuso, Mary Rose D. Razo, and Leanne Danielle Trasporte, along with key officers of Subang – CTU Chapter: Executive President Peter John C. Enorio, Executive Vice-President Krista Marie Frances C. Bicada, Environmental Affairs Vice-President Rodney Joseph B. Sundo, and Environmental Affairs Deputy Director Augustin P. Tapinit.

The produce was distributed among students, volunteers, and the local community of Barili, reinforcing the projectโ€™s mission to support food sustainability and student welfare.

The ๐˜—๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ซ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต is a testament to Cebu Technological University and Subangโ€™s dedication to community-driven solutions, sustainability, and its alignment with the global Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger.
