Subang โ Cebu Technological University Chapter and Pagtambayayong โ A Foundation for Mutual Aid, Inc. successfully conducted a Permaculture Training on January 27, 2025, in Cagay, Barili, Cebu. The training emphasized permaculture layouting, theoretical discussions, and site application, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills in regenerative agriculture.
The event was led by Roberto L. Bajenting, a former Agrarian Reform Officer I of the Department of Agrarian Reform โ Province of Cebu, with assistance from Arturo Villanueva and his family. One of the key highlights of the training was the integration of the SWALE method, which promotes sustainable water management and soil conservation.
Participants from Subang included Peter John C. Enorio, Subang Executive President; Sean B. Tellidua, Vice-President for Agriculture and Food Systems; Shaina Faith D. Visorro, Vice-President for Science and Technology; and Dennis B. Bendulo, Human Resource Director. Volunteer interns Queenelene Faith N. Perpetua, James Adam P. Posas, and Karen L. Defuntorum also joined the training, which was supervised by Subang Adviser Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual.
This collaborative effort underscores the shared commitment of Pagtambayayong and Subang to foster sustainable practices in agriculture. By integrating agroforestry and permaculture principles, the partnership seeks to empower communities with the tools and knowledge necessary to protect ecosystems and strengthen food security.
