As part of the university’s ongoing efforts to boost administrative efficiency, Cebu Technological University’s Records Management and Archives Office, in collaboration with the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), facilitated a two-day Seminar-Workshop on Records Disposition Administration (RDA) starting today, February 27.
Records officers and custodians from various satellite and extension campuses of CTU, as well as the key officials and non-teaching staff, gathered for this seminar-workshop. This initiative is a continuation of the Basic Records and Archives Management (BRAM) seminar held on October 29-30, 2024, seeking to enrich knowledge and awareness of the importance of record disposition.
Resource Speaker Mr. Marvin Erwin M. Supan, Records Management Analyst II from the NAP, emphasized the significance of records inventory, stating, “It is to keep us protected from any accountability and liabilities.”
He discussed the fundamentals of RA 9470, also known as the “National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007,” which seeks to fortify the management and administration of archival records. Also, he delivered a lecture on records inventory and led a workshop, immersing participants in an interactive discourse.
As highlighted during the meeting, effective record disposition is essential to CTU’s records management system, ensuring the secure and streamlined handling of university records.
Meanwhile, the two-day seminar-workshop on RDA will conclude tomorrow, February 27, with Senior Records Management Analyst Mr. Larry O. Pardilla from the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), as the resource speaker.
