On February 1, 2025, Cebu Technological University (CTU) and Subang – Cebu Technological University (Subang-CTU) successfully harvested another batch of fresh produce from the ๐๐ข๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ฎ ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต. This latest yield, which included tomatoes, okra, and chilis, was distributed to students and locals in Barili, further strengthening the initiativeโs impact on food security and community welfare.
The harvesting was facilitated by Subang Executive President Peter John C. Enorio, Subang-CTU Resource Generation Director Ron Janbert P. Ofquila, and Subang-CTU volunteers Ciara Mari M. Brigoli, Mary Danielle T. Descallar, and Iyz Phoebemae Del Socorro. Their efforts reflect the unwavering commitment of Subang-CTU to sustainability and volunteerism.
The ๐๐ข๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ข๐ณ๐ฎ ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ซ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต, a collaborative initiative led by CTU and Subang-CTUโs Agriculture and Food Systems Department, continues to provide students with hands-on agricultural experience while ensuring fresh produce benefits the university and the local community. This project aligns with Sustainable Development Goal No. 2 (Zero Hunger) and contributes to CTUโs goal of improving its standing in the WURI and THE Impact Rankings.
