In celebration of the 2025 National Womenโs Month, Subang โ Cebu Technological University Chapter, in partnership with the Gender and Development Office of CTU – Barili Campus, successfully held “Lakbay Agham: Kababaihan sa Siyensa at Teknolohiya” on March 21, 2025 at the Smart Room. The event aimed to recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of women in science and technology while advocating for gender equality in these fields.
The program opened at 8:30 AM with Shaina Faith D. Visorro, Vice President of the Department of Science and Technology – Subang CTU Chapter, delivering the opening remarks and statement of purpose. Her message set the stage for a day of inspiration and empowerment.
Peter John Enorio, National Executive President of Subang, led the discussions with an insightful talk on Republic Act No. 9262 – The Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, emphasizing the importance of protecting women’s rights and fostering a safe and just society.
Following Enorio, VP Shaina Faith D. Visorro delivered an engaging presentation on “The Role of Women in Science and Technology,” showcasing groundbreaking contributions of female scientists and inspiring young women to pursue careers in STEM.
Adding depth to the conversation, Dr. Daisy L. Obiso, Department Chair of Education and Social Sciences – COEd, discussed #JuanaSays, a movement amplifying women’s voices in various fields. Meanwhile, Miss Mary Grace Flores, Gender and Development Director, reinforced the message of womenโs empowerment and leadership.
The event concluded with John Gielai O. Sedentario, Executive Secretary of Subang CTU Chapter, expressing gratitude to the speakers, organizers, and attendees for their support and participation. A group photo session followed, capturing the spirit of solidarity and empowerment that defined the event.
