Cebu Technological University (CTU) Daanbantayan celebrated its 77th founding anniversary with great pride and enthusiasm, marking its rich history since its founding as MARMSF (Manuel A. Roxas Memorial School of Fisheries). Under the leadership of Campus Director, Dr. Ruben M. Ungui, the university continues to thrive and excel across four key areas: Instruction, Research, Extension, and Production.
This progress is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the respected directors, department chairpersons, faculty, staff, and students, who contribute to the university’s success. Located in the northernmost part of Cebu, CTU Daanbantayan serves nearly 4,000 students, many of whom come from humble backgrounds and would otherwise find it difficult to afford quality education in the city. Through the universityโs commitment to free government higher education, the municipality of Daanbantayan has benefited greatly from this opportunity.
The 77th Founding Anniversary celebration, held from March 3 to 5, was a spectacular event. It featured exciting performances from the Hugyaw CTU Dance Troupe and Huni CTU Ensemble, traditional Laro ng Lahi games, a Fundraising Extravaganza, and the much-anticipated Mr. and Ms. Technologist 2025 pageant. These events not only showcased the talents and unity of the CTU Daanbantayan community but also highlighted the bond between the school and the local society of Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu.
This milestone event served as a reminder of the universityโs vibrant past, its thriving present, and its promising future.
