From March 13-15, 2025, faculty members from Cebu Technological University (CTU), including representatives from Daanbantayan, Carmen, Tuburan, Danao, and Camotes, participated in a faculty immersion program at Sunwing Bangtao Beach Resort. Dr. Tracy L. Mantos, Chair of the Student Internship Abroad Program at CTU Daanbantayan, led the immersion.
The program aimed to enhance global linkages, promote cross-cultural understanding, and develop the global competencies of both faculty and students. Faculty members monitored the progress of student interns at renowned partner hotels in the region, including Sunwing Kamala, Sunprime Kamala, Best Western Bangtao, and Best Western Phuket Ocean Resort.
Dr. Ruben M. Unguis, Campus Director of CTU Daanbantayan, played a pivotal role in supporting this initiative, positioning the campus as a leader in global competitiveness and fostering international collaboration.
The program also highlighted CTU Daanbantayan students’ growing ambition to pursue internships abroad, broadening their career opportunities and gaining international industry experience. This aligns with the university’s mission to develop globally competent graduates.
The immersion was followed by a cultural experience from March 16-17, 2025, allowing participants to explore local traditions and deepen their cultural awareness. Among the student interns were Mr. John Ervin Gulfan, assigned to the Food and Beverage department at Best Western Phuket Ocean Resort, and Mr. Dio Lyn Villarin, who worked in the Front Office Department at Sunwing Kamala Beach Resort.
This immersion and collaborative effort with Addaper Management Consultancy (AMC) marked a significant step in fostering international partnerships and enriching the educational experience for CTU faculty and students.
