Students from the Department of Tourism Management under the College of Management and Entrepreneurship at Cebu Technological University-Main Campus were amassed at the ‘Research Congress 2025’ held at the gym today.

The congress seeks to discuss research-driven approaches and initiatives to tourism management and development in the country.

“Let’s continue working together to make Philippine tourism smarter, more sustainable, and more inclusive,” said Mr. Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, Chief of Staff and Undersecretary for Tourism Regulation Coordination & Resource Generation, Department of Tourism (DOT).

He further stated that DOT remains open to collaborative partnerships that can contribute to shaping the future of tourism and serving the Filipino people.

University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito said in his speech, “At Cebu Technological University, we take immense pride in providing a space where ideas are not just nurtured but brought to life.” Dr. Pepito emphasized that the congress serves as a crucial avenue for the students, the next generation of innovators and leaders in the tourism sector.

Among the attendees were research presenters, faculty members and staff, the chairperson of the Department of Tourism Management, and CTU’s administrative officials.

By partaking in this endeavor, tourism students were inspired to create impactful research, make a change, and innovate for the future of Philippine tourism.
