On March 7, 2025, the Daanbantayan Municipal Hall grounds hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of National Women’s Month, showcasing the power of women and their significant contributions to society.
The event, headed by the Cebu Technological University (CTU) Daanbantayan Campus GAD Director Dr. Marlou Godinez, featured a remarkable lineup of speakers, including Municipal Mayor Sun J. Shimura. Mayor Shimura delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the importance of empowering women and advancing gender equality in the community.
The celebration also brought together key figures such as CTU Campus Director Dr. Ruben Ms. Ungui, as well as the dedicated faculty and staff of CTU. Guests were treated to lively performances by the CTU Daanbantayan Hugyaw Dance Group, which wowed the audience with vibrant traditional dances that celebrated Filipino culture. The Huni Club also performed, adding to the festive atmosphere with their musical talents.
This event was not only a celebration of the achievements of women but also a call to continue striving for progress and equality.
