In a groundbreaking ceremony, Cebu Technological University’s Daanbantayan Campus marked a significant milestone with the upcoming ‘Cong. Benhur Salimbangon Sports Hub,’ featuring a state-of-the-art sports oval, which will act as a breeding ground for student-athlete champs.
Held on February 28, 2025, at CTU-DB, Daanbantayan, Cebu, this soon-to-rise sports hub is backed by the university and Hon. Janice Z. Salimbangon, Congresswoman of Cebu’s 4th District, demonstrating their joint efforts and commitment to providing the community and stakeholders, and particularly students with innovative facilities that boost academic and athletic growth.
CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito said in his speech, “The Congressman Benhur Salimbangon Sports Hub stands as a testament to our shared commitment to holistic educationโwhere learning extends beyond classrooms and into areas where character, teamwork, and perseverance are forged.”
By taking this meaningful step, CTU moves closer to its notion of nurturing a culture of excellence that extends beyond academics to the realm of sports.
“It is through facilities like this that we empower our youth to strive for greatness, to compete with confidence, and to represent CTU with pride and honor,” Dr. Pepito concluded.
Among the attendees during the ceremony were CTU-Daanbantayan Campus Director Dr. Ruben M. Ungui, faculty and staff of CTU-DB extension campuses, and LGUs.
