In celebration of World Veterinary Day on April 25, 2025, Cebu Technological University Bariliโ€™s College of Veterinary Medicine held a successful outreach event featuring free Anti-Rabies Vaccinations and a Stray Feeding Activity for furry animals in the Cagay-Kalubihan area.

The event aimed to promote animal health and welfare in the local community. A total of 32 pets were successfully vaccinated, contributing to the ongoing efforts to control and prevent the spread of rabies. The stray feeding activity was also conducted in the area, with 10 kilograms of dog food distributed to the stray animals. Fifty slots were only available for the free vaccinations, ensuring an organized and efficient process.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the collegeโ€™s student organizations, including the Veterinary Medicine Clinicians Club (VMCC), Veterinary Studentsโ€™ Society (VetSS), and SAVER. The 4th and 5th year clinicians facilitated the vaccination drive, while VetSS and SAVER took charge of the stray feeding activity. Their collective dedication and hard work ensured the smooth flow of the activities and meaningful interaction with pet owners and residents.

In the afternoon, an awarding ceremony was held for the student volunteers, followed by a short program dedicated to the attending doctors, to whom the students also gave simple tokens of appreciation.
Through events like this, Cebu Technological University continues fostering compassion, responsibility, and public health awareness in its students and the broader community.
