Cebu Technological University (CTU) and Roble Shipping Incorporated formally established a partnership to elevate maritime education in the region through a coordination meeting held on April 21, 2025, at the University Presidentโs Conference Room, CTU-Main.
In the meeting, Roble Shipping announced its generous donation of a ship engine to be used by students of the CTU-Carmen campus. This donation is expected to strongly enrich hands-on learning and technical skills development for maritime students, acknowledging CTU’s consistent production of highly capable graduates in the maritime field.
In addition to the donation, plans are underway for the construction of a building and a shipyard facility to back the universityโs growing maritime programs. This endeavor mirrors the university’s commitment to furthering its excellence in marine education.
Roble Shipping was represented by its President and CEO, Mr. Jose Emery Roble, along with his team. Meanwhile, CTU key officials who participated in the meeting were University President Dr. Joseph Pepito; Director for Infrastructure Engr. Alex Mayor; Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Romeo P. Montecillo; CTU Carmen Campus Director Dr. Anthony S. Ilano; Mr. Teofilo D. Antolijao, OIC-Dean of the College of Maritime Education; and Engr. Siem C. Mayol, OIC-OBT Chairperson.
CTU Carmen is widely recognized for its strong maritime programs, and the partnership with Roble Shipping is a testament to the university’s quality of education and its excellent students.
