In support of public health safety and contribution to economic growth, Cebu Technological University (CTU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today, at the University President’s Conference Room.

The partnership is aligned with the FDA’s “Bigyang-Halaga, Bangon MSMEs (BBMSMEs)” initiative, which seeks to support and capacitate local entrepreneurs, particularly Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Through this collaboration with the FDA, the food owners, manufacturers, and entrepreneurs from CTU will soon undergo seminars on licensing, registration, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), training on food safety and key operational protocols, and capacity development initiatives, among other things.

Hence, food and innovation centers across CTU campuses will soon obtain licenses and registrations, adhering to industry standards and public health safety.

The MOU was inked by both parties, headed by CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito and Ms. Jesusa Joyce N. Cirunay, OIC-Deputy Director General for Field Regulatory Operations Office (FROO).

Among the delegates from FDA were OIC-Visayas Cluster Director Rica Reina C. Aumentado; OIC-Supervisor-RFO VII Therese Antoniette V. Cuyos; Mr. Cristi Cesar F. Megraso, Chief, CSL-CTQAL; and Ms. Jerlinda A. Macasocol, FDRO IV, CSL-CTQAL.

Meanwhile, the vice president for Administration and Finance Dr. Ramel C. Genobiagon, vice president for Research and Development Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, focal person Dr. Raamah C. Rosales, CTU-Main campus director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr., and CAS dean Dr. Edwin A. Andaya, also participated on this event.
