The College of Computer, Information, and Communications Technology (CCICT) of Cebu Technological University (CTU) successfully concluded its first extension project for Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, on May 23, 2025.
The initiative, titled โProductivity Software Proficiency of the Sitio Collaborators,โ aimed to enhance the digital skills of the Sitio collaborators. This project was launched on September 13, 2024, and ended on February 7, 2025.
This community project was made possible through the proactive leadership of Barangay Pusok Captain Hon. Ranulfo G. Emperio, in collaboration with CTU-CCICT, under the guidance of project leader Emelie C. Villaceran. The training sessions were led by CCICT faculty members and supported by dedicated student volunteers.
The program focused on equipping Sitio collaborators with essential productivity software skills, empowering them to better serve their communities and adapt to the growing demands of digital literacy.
The closing ceremony, originally scheduled for March 28, 2025, was held on May 23, upon the request of the partner barangay. The event was graced by the presence of the Barangay Council and staff, led by Hon. Emperio, as well as the CCICT faculty headed by Dean Dr. Jose Maria S. Garcia II.
The ceremony celebrated the achievements of the training completers, Barangay Pusokโs Sitio collaborators, who were recognized for their commitment to learning and community development.
This project marks a significant milestone in CTU-CCICTโs ongoing mission to extend its expertise beyond the classroom and foster meaningful partnerships with local communities.
