The Office of the Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) of Cebu Technological University led a ‘CDIO Curriculum Integration and Cascading for all COT and CCICT Programs,’ initiative on April 23 to 25, 2025, at a resort in Hagnaya, San Remigio, Cebu.
The gathering sought to enrich curriculum development, syllabus improvement, boost innovative teaching methods, and elevate student learning experiences. It brought together participants from CTU campuses offering programs under the College of Technology (COT) and the College of Computer, Information and Communications Technology (CCICT).
During the opening program, University Director for CDIO Dr. Maria Elena A. Aparente provided the event’s rationale, stressing the essence of the CDIO framework and initiatives.
The three-day discussion centered on the cascading of standards, CDIO curriculum mapping, syllabus alignment, and essential skill sets for each standard, among others. Also, the talk stressed the need to cultivate engagement and motivation throughout COT and CCICT programs to foster a great experience for educators and learners.
By participating in this seminar, COT and CCICT faculty further enhanced their teaching strategies and assessments through the workshop conducted, empowering them to equip students with practical, industry-aligned skills.
Dr. Aparente, together with the CDIO team leader Dr. Eingilbert C. Benolirao and CDIO PMTs, namely Engr. Al Emmanuel L. Caballes, Engr. Delfa G. Castilla, Dr. Ve Leslie E. Atanoza, and Engr. Teresita B. Capin, headed the three-day event.
To recall, CTU was officially recognized as a CDIO collaborator during the Asia Regional Meeting (ARM) 2024 on September 5-7, 2024, at Hokkaido Information University in Japan. This recognition signifies CTU’s commitment to implementing and integrating CDIO initiatives in the university’s academic programs.
