Cebu Technological University (CTU) successfully conducted a two-day General Orientation and Workshop on Institutional Accreditation on May 26โ27, 2025, at a hotel in Mandaue City, Cebu. Organized by the University Quality Assurance Office, the event aimed to prepare the institution for its upcoming accreditation survey.
The event opened with a warm welcome message delivered by Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr., Campus Director of CTU Main Campus, setting the tone for the two-day activity. CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito also personally attended and delivered an inspiring address, reaffirming the universityโs strong commitment to academic excellence. Also in attendance were the universityโs vice presidents, campus directors, senior accreditors, accreditors, university directors, and faculty members, all of whom actively participated in the sessions.
The resource speakers were from AACCUP, Inc., led by the Executive Director, Dr. Milabel E. Ho, along with Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, SUC President of Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology; Mr. Dominic T. Martinez; Mr. Jimson L. Lamarroza; and Ms. Merelyn G. Dela Cruz. They guided the participants through the institutional accreditation process. Workshop sessions focused on preparing essential documents for nine key areas: Governance and Management; Teaching, Learning, and Evaluation; Faculty and Staff; Research; Extension and Linkages; Student Support; Library; Infrastructure and Learning Resources; and Quality Assurance Culture.
On the second day, participants presented and synthesized their workshop outputs. This was followed by critiquing sessions to improve the quality of the documents. The digitization and uploading of accreditation materials were facilitated by Mr. Dominic T. Martinez, IT Officer of AACCUP, Inc., who provided technical support to ensure all documents were properly formatted, organized, and submitted.
The event concluded with closing messages and reflections from both facilitators and participants. The orientation and workshop marked a critical step forward in CTUโs efforts to achieve institutional accreditation and uphold its commitment to continuous quality improvement in higher education.
