Cebu Technological University (CTU) hosted the 3rd CebuTech International Industrial Engineering Research Congress (CIIERC) on May 15, 2025, at the CebuTech gymnatorium, CTU-Main Campus.
This yearโs congress carries the theme “Industrial Engineering Beyond Boundaries: Innovating for Thriving Communities and Industries,” emphasizing the importance of forward-thinking solutions that uplift both industries and communities.
The event brought together Industrial Engineering students from various academic levels, with a strong focus on fourth-year students who showcased their Capstone Research through poster presentations. These projects were evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts and observed by fellow students, faculty members, and academic guests.
A major highlight of the congress was a series of keynote and plenary talks delivered by respected figures from diverse academic and professional sectors. Keynote speakers Ms. Lorafe Lozano and Dr. Fortunato Dela Peรฑa opened the event with insightful discussions on the evolving role of Industrial Engineering in today’s world.
This was followed by thought-provoking plenary talks from a panel of esteemed speakers: Dr. Abdul Talib Bon, Dr. Lanndon Ocampo, Mr. Nguyen Pham Kien Minh, and Mr. Matt Kesby. These experts shared their global perspectives and latest research findings, with some delivering their talks in person and others joining virtually via Zoomโbroadening the reach and impact of their messages.
An engaging open forum followed the presentations, allowing participants to interact directly with the speakers through a question-and-answer session. This interactive segment fostered meaningful dialogue and encouraged attendees to explore emerging ideas and trends in Industrial Engineering.
As a token of appreciation, certificates of recognition were awarded to all speakers and panelists whether attending in person or virtually for their generous contributions and commitment to knowledge sharing.
The CIIERC continues to serve as a dynamic platform for academic collaboration and innovation. More than just a research event, it inspires future engineers to create meaningful, lasting change across industries and communities.
