To boost academic rigor, Cebu Technological University (CTU) held a four-day seminar on implementing the ISO 21001:2018 Educational Organizations Management System (EOMS) from May 20 to 23, 2025, at a hotel in North Reclamation Area, Cebu City.
Divided into two batches, the event aimed to enhance CTUโs education delivery and institutional effectiveness. On May 20 to 21, the first batch, convened top management, focusing on ISO 21001’s leadership requirements, strategic alignment, and policy development. Participants explored fostering a risk-aware, learner-focused culture for continuous improvement.
Meanwhile, from May 22 to 23, the second batch gathered CTUโs quality assurance teams, including the University Quality Management Representative (QMR), Document Controllers, Internal Quality Auditors, Record Officers, and Administrative Officers. This group focused on operational components like internal audits, documentation control, and performance monitoring.
The seminar, led by Mr. Kevin T. Castillon of ASC Management System Consultancy and Allied Services, provided expert guidance on integrating ISO 21001 principles. Discussions covered identifying issues, setting goals, engaging stakeholders, and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
Through this seminar, CTU reaffirmed its commitment to quality education and operational excellence. By equipping its leadership and quality assurance teams with the tools for ISO 21001 implementation, the university moves closer to its goal of enhanced educational outcomes, increased stakeholder satisfaction, and sustained institutional growth. CTU is now poised to integrate these principles, solidifying its educational standards.
