In commemoration of the country’s rich history and the bravery, sacrifice, and solidarity that gave birth to our nation’s freedom, Cebu Technological University (CTU) gathered all of its stakeholders, employees, officials, and guests to celebrate the 127th Philippine Independence today, June 12, 2025, at the CTU-Main grounds.
With the theme, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan,” the university stands united with the nation in celebrating this historic event. The celebration featured key personnel who showed their respect, patriotism, and national pride by proudly donning traditional and historical Filipino attire throughout the opening program parade and celebration.
In his speech, CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito expressly stated, “Ang pagwawagayway ng ating pambansang watawat ay simbolo at sumasagisag ng ating pagkakaisa at determinasyon or pagpasanay na patuloy na itaguyod ang mga adhikain ng ating pamantasan at ng ating bansa.”
To learn from the past and preserve our heritage, guest speaker Dr. Jose Eleazar Bersales underlined, “Our past is to ensure that our unique culture, our unique history, and our past are preservedโฆin order to inspire us and remind us of where we have come from. For it is in looking back at where we have been and what we have done about it that we continue to show how we take care of our soul as a people.”
As the Philippine flag waves high, the CTU community remains steadfast in upholding its values of unity, cultural diversity, inclusivity, patriotism, and academic distinction.
Present during the celebration are the vice presidents, campus directors, university directors, department and office heads, faculty, non-teaching staff, and participating students, among others.
Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan, Pilipinas!
