Cebu Technological University (CTU) and AboitizPower officially sealed a partnership, signing two agreements that cover scholarship programs, research, innovation, and SDG-centered initiatives, on July 29 at CTU Main Campus.
Under the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), AboitizPower Corporation-Distribution will provide financial assistance to deserving Electrical Engineering students enrolled at CTU through its scholarship program.
Meanwhile, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focuses on CTU and AboitizPower collaboration in “advancing science, technology, and innovation development in the Philippines, particularly in the field of Engineering, Technology, and Business to initiate and enhance mutually beneficial goals.”
“Together, we will work towards engineering excellence and a sustainable energy future for the region,” said Engr. Mark Anthony Kindica, President and Chief Operating Officer of Visayan Electric, stressing that by linking the academe with industry, it can create an environment where knowledge and innovation thrive.
AboitizPower representatives, including Engr. Kindica attended the signing of the two agreements. Kindica, Human Resources Head Ms. Belen Catanduanes, and Engineering Technical Support Mr. Nico Arancillo.
Further, CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito was represented by Executive Assistant IV Atty. Rodmarc P. Sanchez, along with COE Dean Dr. Joecyn N. Archival, Electrical Engineering Program Chairperson Engr. Marvin Radaza, CTU Main Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr., and OIC-UD for Financial Assistance and Student Scholarship Program, Ms. Janet A. Saragena.
This collaboration builds a strong synergy between industry and academe, elevating research and innovation in SDG-aligned goals and preparing electrical engineering students to industry demands.
