The College of Education at Cebu Technological University (CTU) โ Daanbantayan Campus held a Student and Parent Retention Policy Forum on July 28, 2025, aimed at addressing academic performance concerns and reinforcing university retention standards.
The forum focused on students with General Weighted Averages (GWAs) of 2.6 and below, presenting them and their parents with the universityโs retention guidelines and academic expectations. It served as a platform to clarify policies and outline the implications of failing to meet the required standards.
The event was led by Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr., Campus Dean of Instruction, with full support from Campus Director Dr. Ruben M. Ungui. Also in attendance were Prof. Analyn C. Frasco, BTLED Chairperson; Dr. Tseryt N. Verdida, BEED Chairperson; and Prof. Braulio M. Dingosin, Chairperson, Mathematics Department.
Key university officesโincluding the Registrar, Guidance, College Dean, and Campus Public Affairsโprovided essential documentation such as grade sheets and official student lists, ensuring a transparent and data-driven discussion.
The forum emphasized CTUโs commitment to academic excellence, accountability, and shared responsibility between the university and families. It reinforced early intervention efforts to support student retention and uphold the integrity of its academic programs.
