To propel innovation and impactful research for CTU and its communities, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development (OVPRD) held its 3rd Quarter Research and Development Council Meeting for 2025, bringing together RD chairs, center directors, project leaders, faculty researchers, and CTU officials at a hotel in Cebu City, from July 1 to 2, 2025.

The two-day meeting sought to discuss research initiatives, provide updates on funding opportunities, and promote collaboration among researchers.

Led by VPRD Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, the discussion covered the status of implementation and budget utilization of 2025 GAA research projects (Tier 1 & Tier ); first to second quarter accomplishments; presentation of proposals for GAA 2026 (Tier 1) endorsement; budget forum; and updates on University Research Journal (Magister and JATM) and R&D-related activities.

Further, the meeting centered on the review of the R&D and Intellectual Property (IP) Policy manuals, sharing of IP application experience of BENRC, and other matters.

Among the attendees were RD chairs from various CTU campuses in Argao, Barili, Carmen, CCMSC, Consolacion, Danao, Daanbantayan, Moalboal, San Francisco, Tuburan, Main, and extension campuses in Dumanjug, Naga Extension, and San Fernando. Further, center directors from ICMRM, CCRC, BENRC, ERRC, BIOTECH, CAMOR, SCENT, CAVES, CLABMS, IMGPVD, IFSIT, CSI, CCCBDAI, and ATBI-TUBURAN, as well as Tier 2 2025 project leaders, were also present.

By fostering strategic partnerships and strong collaboration, CTU amplifies its impact, driving societal progress through innovative, sustainable, and community-focused research initiatives.
