Cebu Technological University (CTU) joined the ‘GALA Night and Thanksgiving Dinner,’ held in honor of the newly appointed Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson, Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, on July 7 at a hotel in Manila.

On behalf of SUC President IV Dr. Joseph C. Pepito and the CTU community, the event was attended by CTU Faculty Regent Dr. Denilin P. Batulan and Executive Assistant IV Atty. Rodmarc P. Sanchez.

In her speech, Dr. Agrupis shared her journey from President of Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) to Commissioner, and ultimately, Chairperson. She underscored that her path was not a “walk on a red carpet but on a very rugged road.”

Further, she emphasized her commitment to serving the country by promoting and defending quality higher education, reaffirming her dedication to fulfilling her mandate.

Themed ‘Leading with Impact: Sustaining. Collaborating. Accelerating,’ this endeavor honored CHED Chairperson Dr. Agrupis’ remarkable leadership and pivotal contributions to elevating quality assurance standards in Philippine higher education.

Organized by the National Network of Quality Assurance Agencies, Inc. (NNQAA), the event convened heads and representatives from SUCs, LUCs, private HEIs, and accrediting agencies, among others.
