Cebu City, Philippines โ€“ After three intensive days of assessments, presentations, and dialogue, the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. concluded its Hybrid Accreditation Survey Visit to Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus and CTU Moalboal Campus with a closing program held on July 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

The event was packed with insights, gratitude, and a clear commitment to continuous quality assurance. It marked the culmination of a rigorous evaluation process for several academic programs across both campuses, including Level IV Phase 2 for the Master of Technology and Livelihood Education and Master in Education programs, Level III Phase 2 Revisit of All Areas for the Bachelor of Science in Graphics and Design and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, and Level III Phase 2 for the Bachelor of Industrial Technology majors in Drafting Technology, Electrical Technology, and Welding and Fabrication Technology.

The closing ceremony opened with the national and institutional hymns, followed by an overview of the evaluation resultsโ€”led by Dr. Carlo T. Nabo, Overall Coordinator and an esteemed academic from Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), along with Dr. Rodolfo B. Burac, Jr. of Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), who coordinated the Moalboal Campus assessments.

During the Pledge of Commitment, three representatives stood on behalf of CTU leadership, reaffirming the university’s dedication to its mission. While Dr. Janice A. Alivio (Dean, COT โ€“ Main Campus) was unavailable due to prior engagements, she was aptly represented by Dr. Maria Esther F. Medalla, Associate Dean of the College of Technology. Meanwhile, Dr. Raymond C. Espina, Dean of COEd โ€“ Main Campus, delivered his personal message with passion, and Dr. Charmaine P. Antecristo, Campus Director of CTU Moalboal, expressed her gratitude and optimism for the future, emphasizing how the accreditation process serves as a valuable guide for the campus’s continuous improvement and alignment with national quality standards.

โ€œThis process is more than a compliance measureโ€”it is a culture-building mechanism. We take pride not only in what we achieve, but in how we grow through critique,โ€ Dr. Espina said in his closing message.

A heartfelt moment in the program was the Awarding of Certificates, recognizing the survey team composed of experts from various state universities and colleges. Their contributions to the integrity of the accreditation process were evident in their professionalism, thorough analysis, and constructive feedback throughout the visit.

For the CTU Main Campus, the accreditors included:

โ€ข Prof. Floreizl P. Ventocilla โ€“ Team Leader, Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU)

โ€ข Dr. Willie C. Bucaltin โ€“ Lead Accreditor, Cavite State University (CvSU)
โ€ข Dr. Liza M. Tamargo โ€“ Librarian, Ifugao State University (IfSU)

Each accreditor brought a depth of experience and a sense of mentorship that shaped the visit into a learning process, not just an evaluation.

Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Vice President for Academic Affairs, was represented by Dr. Imelda J. Villarin, Main Campus Dean of Instruction, who delivered the closing remarks. She emphasized the importance of the accreditation process in strengthening CTU’s mission.

โ€œCTU is not merely meeting standardsโ€”we are setting new benchmarks in innovation, inclusivity, and impact,โ€ she declared.

Likewise, representing President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, Dr. Romeo P. Montecillo, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, and Dr. Meralei J. Lawas, University Director for Quality Assurance, ensured that the central administration’s support was felt throughout the program.

The event concluded with a photo opportunity and the CTU Hymn, a resonant reminder of the universityโ€™s shared values and aspirations.

As the university awaits the formal results, the energy remains high. The hybrid accreditation visit not only examined academic offerings but also strengthened CTUโ€™s resolve to innovate, collaborate, and evolve. The insights and support from AACCUPโ€™s distinguished survey team will serve as a compass for the university’s next strides.

The visit for CTU marks not an end, but a vital checkpoint in its journey toward excellence.
