Geared toward better oversight and stronger outcomes regionโwide, CTU faculty researchers convened for a high-impact seminar-workshop on Grantsmanship for ASEAN Cooperation Projects, honing their skills in proposal development, results-based management (RBM), and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL).
Held from August 26 to 28, the workshop tackled the ASEAN Cooperation Project Cycle, RBM principles, and the ASEAN project proposal templateโfrom defining project details and identifying beneficiaries, to ensuring sustainability, gender inclusivity, and robust risk management.
Led by three senior officers from the Program Cooperation and Project Management Division (PCPMD) of the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, IndonesiaโMr. Franciscus Xaverius Hernandi Dwi Prasetyo, Mr. Handriatno Waseso, and Mr. Jasper Belarmino Romโthe workshop armed participants with the skills to apply concepts to realโworld projects and craft proposals aligned with ASEANโs objectives in science, technology, and strategic alliances.
During days 1 and 2, they held specialized sessions and workshops introducing tools for project monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and budgeting strategies. The activity included activities aimed at creating impactful researchโdriven programs that address community needs and strengthen ASEANโs capacity, not merely securing funding.
On the final day, participants presented their ASEAN cooperation project proposals, showcasing readiness to tackle regional challenges through science, technology, and strategic partnerships.
Backing the initiative, CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, VP for Research and Development Dr. Pet Roey L. Pascual, and VP for Production, Extension, and Resource Generation Dr. Rosein A. Ancheta Jr., stressed the need for collaborative, researchโdriven projects to meet urgent community needs and boost ASEANโs innovation capacity.
The grantsmanship for ASEAN cooperation projects provided faculty researchers and extension chairs with the skills to develop projects with significant global impact and further cemented CTUโs place as a key driver of innovation and regional collaboration across Southeast Asia.
Offices of the VPRD and PERG, in collaboration with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), organized the three-day event hosted by Dr. Cristie Ann L. Jaca, University Director for Information, Communication, and Public Affairs (ICPA).
