University key officials and personnel gathered for a two-day “Organizational Transformation Initiative for Cebu Technological University: Organizational Assessment, Restructuring, and Competency Enhancement Towards a Responsive and Future-ready CTU” initiative, held on August 12 to 13, 2025.
The two-day event focused on harmonizing CTU’s mission with strategic plans, underlining its 2030 vision, which encompasses smart campuses, AI integration, digitalization, a globally recognized university, industry responsive programs, innovative research, SDG-driven efforts, and ethical governance, among others.
Led by resource speaker Dr. Edwin C. Monares, CEO of Global Zenith Research and Consulting, and facilitated by Field Operations Manager Mr. Mark M. Isip, Day 1 discussions covered visioning exercise, strategic alignment workshop, locus and focus mapping, core values integration, results-based evaluation, and translating vision into actionable plans.
He outlined the following objectives: (1) visualize CTU’s desired future as a premier Science and Technology university in Southeast Asia by 2030; (2) align CTU’s mission with strategic directions; (3) identify focal implementers and thematic areas per strategic goal; (4) draft basic monitoring and evaluation matrices; (5) integrate CTU Core Values into decision-making; and (6) translate the vision into specific, actionable, and measurable strategic initiatives. Moreover, participants joined the workshop on creating a ‘sample vision board’ for CTU, featuring their creative works in the presentation.
CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, in his speech, said, “Over the course of this initiative, we’ll engage in an honest assessment of our current structure and system.” He further stated, “โฆwe will invest in the development of competencies that empower our workplace to try in a future defined by complexity and change.”
On day 2, Dr. Monares discussed the CTU reform agenda, 360-degree organizational climate study (OCS), rationalization, and restructuring assessment, redesign of functional and staffing structures, and business process review and reengineering (BPR), among others.
Further, he stressed that the organizational structure is the “blueprint that ensures CTU’s mandate, functions, and services are efficiently delivered, avoiding overlap, redundancy, or mission drift.”
Overall, this initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of the university in elevating its organizational transformation, core values integration, and vision-driven progress.
