To foster collaborative opportunities, the Philippine Armyโs 701st Community Defense Center (CDC) unit made a courtesy visit to Cebu Technological University (CTU) Main Campus on August 13, 2025, at the Presidentโs Office Conference Room.
The meeting was attended by CTU Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr. and centered on discussions about the possible signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the 701st CDC and CTU-affiliated campuses with existing Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC) units. This initiative meets the requirements set by the 701st CDC headquarters to establish a formal and official partnership between the military unit and the university.
Prof. Belenda P. Babiera, CTU Chairperson of the National Service Training Program (NSTP), joined the meeting along with ROTC 1st class officers headed by the Corps Commander Dave Christopher Kaquilala from CTU-Main. Representing the 701st CDC, LTC Jennifer P. Terencio, CTU Main ROTC Commandant and 701st CDC Director, led the visiting delegation. She was accompanied by TSO Arthur B. Arguiola Jr., CTU Main ROTC Administrative Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) and 701st CDC Interior Officer; CPL Amelita M. Gilhang, CTU Main ROTC Tactical NCO and 701st CDC Training NCO; and TSO Joji C. Baga, 701st CDC Operations Officer.
Their visit underscored the Philippine Armyโs commitment to boosting partnerships for CTU ROTC, which will provide a framework for developing discipline, leadership, and civic responsibility among students in line with national defense goals.
