The Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) successfully held the International Research Conference and Trainings on August 26 to 28, 2025 at a hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
With the theme โStrengthening BIMP-EAGA Foundation on Resiliency, Inclusivity, Sustainability, and Economic Competitiveness,โ the event served as a platform for researchers from the four member countries to showcase recent advancements in agriculture, business, entrepreneurship, sports and culture, engineering and technology, social sciences, and tourism.
Representing Cebu Technological University (CTU) were Dr. Roselyn Bustos of CTU Naga Extension Campus and Mr. Alvin Lopez of CTU Dumanjug Campus. Among 131 paper presentations across five clusters, Dr. Bustos was recognized as one of the Top Five Best Presenters in the Socio-Cultural and Education Cluster.

She presented her GAA-funded research titled โEchoing the Narratives of First-Generation University Students,โ which highlights the academic journeys and resilience of pioneering learners in higher education.
The recognition marks another milestone for CTU, underscoring its commitment to advancing impactful research in the international arena.
