Cebu Technological University (CTU) proudly showcased its global engagement in engineering education during the Asian Regional Meeting (ARM) CDIO 2025 in Indonesia, from August 19 to 21, 2025.

Hosted by Politeknik Negeri Batam, this prestigious international gathering brought together engineering and vocational institutions from 14 countries, united by the goal of advancing education through the Conceiveโ€“Designโ€“Implementโ€“Operate (CDIO) framework.

Delegates from Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Vietnam, Sweden, Denmark, Indonesia, and the Philippines participated in the conference. It served as a dynamic platform for sharing best practices, fostering academic collaboration, and strengthening global partnerships between academia and industry.

CTU made a notable contribution through compelling presentations delivered by its faculty members:

Dr. Ve Leslie E. Atanoza, CDIO Director, presented โ€œThe CTU CDIO Journey,โ€ detailing the universityโ€™s milestones, progress, and challenges in adopting and evolving the CDIO framework.

Meanwhile, Prof. Delfa G. Castilla, CDIO PMT, discussed “Advanced CDIO Implementation: Bridging Industry Needs with Academic Curriculum,โ€ highlighting the university’s strategic initiatives to align its educational programs with industry requirements.

Lastly, Prof. Mark Paul L. Lim, CDIO Champion, shared โ€œBest Practices in Implementing the CDIO Framework: The Cebu Technological University Experience,โ€ offering a comprehensive overview of CTUโ€™s innovative approaches to curriculum design under the CDIO model.

The CTU delegation was also honored by the presence of former CDIO Director Dr. Maria Elena A. Aparente, whose continued involvement underscores her strong commitment to CDIO advancement and international collaboration in engineering education.

A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CTU, represented by University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, and Politeknik Negeri Batam. This agreement marks a pivotal step in expanding CTUโ€™s global partnerships and reinforcing its dedication to excellence in engineering and technology education.

More than just a forum for knowledge exchange, ARM CDIO 2025 affirmed the institution’s unwavering commitment to innovation, global collaboration, and competitiveness in engineering education.
