A joint lecture series has been finalized between Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia, and CTU Tuburan to deepen the triadic framework of communication, language, and education. Both parties met virtually on October 10 to finalize the schedule, structure, and focus areas of the upcoming series.
This renewed engagement builds on the Memorandum of Understanding signed prior to the pandemic and on Dr. Angen May Charcos’s 2023 visit to ITS, during which she delivered a lecture on communication and development and engaged in a meaningful academic exchange with Prof. Yuni Setya from the Department of Communication and Development Studies.
Under the finalized plan, the paradigm will feature two sessions: Dr. Charcos will present Development Communication for Social Change, while Prof. Setya of ITS will share English Teaching Strategies in Multilingual Contexts.
Each university will host one session online through Zoom or Google Meet, ensuring active participation from both faculty and students.
“This partnership allows us to build bridges across linguistic and cultural boundaries,” Dr. Charcos said. “Through dialogue and shared learning, we hope to develop innovative solutions that respond to both local and global educational challenges.”
CTU’s strategic direction to strengthen its global positioning is all the more strengthened in this upcoming event, particularly with Indonesia — a country with deep cultural and historical ties to the Philippines. /Internationalization and ASEAN Integration
