Designed to equip young beneficiaries with livelihood skills, Cebu Technological University’s College of Technology (COT), conducted KAGAWASAN PINAAGI SA PAG-IMPRINTA “IMPRINTA” (I’m Motivated, Prepared, Resilient, and have the Interest to Nurture Technological Advancement) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Field Office VII, Home for Girls in Labangon, Cebu City.
The initiative aimed to equip beneficiaries aged 7 to 17 with essential skills, enabling them to reintegrate with their families and the community upon leaving the facility.
The continuing partnership equipped the facility’s beneficiaries and selected staff with proficiencies in basic sewing, food preparation, nail care, and other TESDA NCs-related activities, along with training in silkscreen and digital printing, creating livelihood opportunities for their empowerment and economic growth.
The project is led by Architect Timoteo Bernardo L. Uy, together with the faculty and students of the CTU–COT departments—Architectural Drafting and Interior Design Technology, and Civil Technology and Furniture and Cabinet Making.
All silkscreen printing activities were conducted by the proponents, while additional specialists from the same college provided sewing instruction to the beneficiaries.
The project, which began on October 10, gathered 18 participants and culminated on November 21 with 29 successfully completing the skills training, under the supervision of Ms. Jenifer S. Abastillas, Social Welfare Officer III and Center Head of the Home for Girls.
First-year IDT students served as facilitators of the training, namely Elyn P. Pedros, Rheyaliza Mae S. Tibalan, Glysel Dian P. Sumagang, and Gerhalyn L. Mangyao.
Meanwhile, the activity was made possible through the involvement of faculty members, including Ar. Timoteo Bernardo L. Uy, Dr. Jivulter C. Mangubat, Prof. Milcah R. Mangubat, Prof. Hazel O.
