GLOBAL ENGAGEMENTS | CTU signs MOUs with Oman and Germany-based institutions, boosting global research and academic exchange

Cebu Technological University (CTU) expanded its internationalization reach through the signing of two memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with the Oman College of Health Sciences (OCHS) and Hochschule Aalen (Aalen University of Applied Sciences) of Germany during its 16th Anniversary on November 10, at the President’s Office.

The ceremonial signing was attended by distinguished delegates, including Dr. Salma Abdullah Saleh Al and Mr. Dhiyab Mohammed Ali Al-Waail from OCHS in Muscat, Oman, and Prof. Dr. Christian Koot from Aalen University.

The MOU with OCHS maps out a broad collaboration in education and research, covering student and faculty exchange, internship for graduate and undergraduate students, study abroad, scholarly exchange, and capacity-building to foster scientific and cultural synergy.

“We are looking forward to sending our students to the Philippines,” said Mr. Dhiyab during meaningful talks with CTU, led by University President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, together with the vice presidents and Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Director Dr. Rhodora G. Magan.

Meanwhile, the partnership with Aalen University also focuses on academic exchange through the mobility of faculty, students, and staff; joint research projects; knowledge-sharing activities; and the expansion of undergraduate and graduate program offerings.

President Pepito said he looked ahead to meaningful partnerships, stating, “We look forward to our partnership—the sustainable projects and programs we can extend to stakeholders from both your university and ours.”

He noted that the collaboration would go beyond formal agreements, taking shape through concrete initiatives in education and research.

These partnerships with OCHS and Aalen University open new pathways for CTU faculty and students to engage in global academic networks, expanding the university’s research footprint and reinforcing its role in shaping globally relevant, inclusive education.
