Fifty-four newly hired and promoted employees of Cebu Technological University completed a two-day onboarding program held on November 20 and 21, equipping them with essential knowledge on university processes, workplace standards, and their responsibilities as public servants.
The sessions oriented participants on institutional culture, core values, administrative systems, and the expectations tied to their roles as civil servants.
During the onboarding program, CTU President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito, represented by Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Ramel C. Genobiagon, stressed the importance of solidarity and shared vision.
“This onboarding program is designed not only to orient you to our processes and culture, but also to affirm that you belong here. You are part of a vibrant and inclusive family, one that values collaboration, celebrates growth, and strives to make a meaningful impact,” he said.
“I encourage you to approach this new chapter with curiosity, confidence, and a spirit of shared purpose. Together, we will continue to foster a university environment of excellence that empowers every individual to flourish,” he added.
Meanwhile, the vice presidents tackled matters on administration, finance and budget management, academic policies, research and development, production and extension initiatives, resource generation, and student affairs and services.
In his message, CTU Main Campus Director Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron Jr. also highlighted the core of the university’s mission, stating: “This foundation is vital as we aim not only to achieve our institutional goals but also to contribute meaningfully to the lives of our stakeholders, particularly as an academic institution dedicated to our students.”
To foster a safe, respectful, and accountable workplace, Executive Assistant IV, Atty. Rodmarc P. Sanchez talked on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act (RA 7877) and the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), while Atty. Christian T. Bacus of the Legal Office highlighted the salient features of the Rules on Administrative Cases in the Civil Service (RACCS 2025).
Meanwhile, Dr. Jana Gloria F. Almerino, Supervising Administrative Officer (HRMO IV), discussed the institutional culture, CTU’s core values, and the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (RA 6713), as well as CTU’s VMGO and the Strategic Performance Management System (SPMS).
The two‑day sessions also focused on key topics: workplace health and safety; mental health awareness; data privacy, gender and development, and professional development and continuing education opportunities.
Led by Mr. Irvin A. Narciso, Administrative Officer IV (HRMO III), participants also joined sessions on human resource topics, namely employee welfare services, reclassification and internal promotion, learning and development, and rewards and recognition.
Meaningfully, participants engaged in collaborative presentations and activities that advanced teamwork and mutual learning.
The two-day onboarding, spearheaded by the CTU Human Resource Management Office, set the tone for a new generation of CTU personnel ready to uphold the values of the institution and contribute to its mission of public service.
